Area3 is an original hard rock pop trio based in New Jersey. The three members are Mike Piccola (bass/vocals) Tom Gerity (guitars) and Tony D'angelo (drums). We got together in the summer of 2000 wrote some songs and made a demo cd. The band previously played together in 1998-1999 with a different singer who had to leave unexpectedly. When the singer left so did the music written at that time. Area3 was forced to start over again. We searched for a replacement singer but to no avail. We kept on writing new material and for the meantime mike would fill in for vocalist. Eventually mike became the singer the band was looking for. Area3 has a hard rock sound with a touch of blues and powerful but melodic guitar riffs and vocals to pull everything together. When listening to area3 live it is a totally different experience then listening to the cd. You can feel the powerful guitar chords and the bass and drums driving right through you.
Area3 has been playing throughout NJ performing over 20 shows in 2001. In April we did our fist radio interview at Monmouth University’s WMCX 88.9. In May the song “Told you so” and “All that’s left” were played on WDHA 105.5.
In August we performed at a show case for one of New Jersey’s largest concert promoters and they were completely impressed. We will be doing more shows for them in the future.
As our fan base continues to grow our goal is to keep building it. With more shows lined up and new songs being added to our set list we have no plans of slowing down.

I hear alot of emerging bands around here. Area3 sounds to really have it happening and going somewhere. Music is tight, talent is good and production values are high. This could be a band to watch in the emerging rock scene. Check 'em out!
