You would expect the hottest new group in hip-hop to be from New York, L.A., or maybe Atlanta, but KRIMn'L Damage (KD) hails from the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Performing together for only a year, Damage and Sho-Tay are setting the Coast's music scene ablaze; selling hundreds of CD's locally and doing shows all over the South, including concerts with national artists such as Juvenile and Mystikal. Many radio stations and clubs along the Coast have their songs in rotation, and you can believe it's only the beginning as more and more people experience the music of KD.

Such quick success can be attributed to the various style each member possesses that, when bridged together, creates the unique, groundbreaking sound that is KRIMn'L Damage. This distinctive sound of KD is derived from the synergistic talents of it's members. Damage is the brains and the muscle, the catalyst, the driving force behind the group. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, he combines the wittiness of the North with the tell-it-like-it-is style of the South in his rhymes. Sho-Tay, born in Jackson, MS, would be the heart of KRIMn'L Damage. His small town values are not suppressed by his big city talents, and his love for music is evident by way of his descriptive wordplay which bares his soul.

Performing under the name of 'criminal Damage' first, the group realized they didn't want to give the impression of being gangsta rappers. But in order to not disassociate from their growing fan base, the group changed their name to 'KRIMn'L Damage', with KRIMn'L being an acronym for Keeping Real In Music-n-Life. This new identity really defines what the guys and their music are all about, which is evident by their lyrical content that characterizes the good times, as well as the trials and tribulations, of living in the Dirty South.

With the release of their first album, "From the Woodz to the Hoodz," which was so named because the group's music is so well received by people of all ages, races, and backgrounds, KRIMn'L Damage have taken every conceivable opportunity to promote themselves to the regional public. This tireless promotion has included not only the usual club performances and music festival appearances, but innovative ideas such as constructing their own parade float and participating in the Mardi Gras festivities in three coastal cities, as well as being the only hip hop artists to perform at Zoolu 9, an annual 3-day techno music party in New Orleans, LA.

Now, having created one of the most recognizable names in hip hop for this area, KRIMn'L Damage have been asked to be one of the featured artist on the Freedom Tour, a overseas military base tour that will take place over four months and includes stops in Germany, Europe and Japan. The Freedom Tour will not only expand KD's fan base, give them a nice pocket of change to return to the States with, and enhance their stage performance, but, just as important will be the national media attention the group garners, as well as the overall experience that will prepare them for success at the next level.

So, when it hits your city, be prepared for the phenomena that is KRIMn'L Damage, because if you're not a fan yet, you soon will be.
