Like an unstoppable juggernaut, Mandrake from Fort
Collins, CO is
coming to redefine the face of American metal. Coming
from the more
aggressive end of melodic death metal spectrum, the
band fuses twin guitar
harmonies, technical riffs, and the atmosphere that
has both modern and
traditional roots to create a unique, intense, and
energetic sound.
Boasting a wide array of influences, ranging from At
The Gates, Arch
Enemy, and Death to Iron Maiden, In Flames, and Cradle
Of Filth, the band
employs the twin guitars of Ron C. Ardila and Kelly
Tussey,
complemented by the extreme vocals of James Ryan Taron
and the rhythm section of
Alex Shalenko on bass guitar and Mike Horn on drums.
The band has opened
for a variety of national acts, including Hatebreed,
DRI, A.C.,
Cephalic Carnage, and the others, as well as
performing at Milwaukee Metalfest
and November To Dismember, creating in process a large
fan base in
Colorado and beyond.
The debut album Dying Sentiment , released on II
Records in 2001, took
the underground by storm, receiving rave reviews from
the publications
around the world which praised its originality and
innovative
implementation of keyboards and tribal influences with
the melodic death metal
core. Now, it is the time to take the next step.
Returning with a heavier, more focused sound and
take-no-prisoners
attitude, Mandrake s newest record The Burning Horizon
At The End Of Dawn ,
scheduled for release in early 2003, is sure to leave
a mark on the
American metal scene. With a tour to follow, the band
is prepared to take
their gospel of melodic extreme metal on the road to
the audiences in the
United States and beyond.
