This is a cover of the classic written by Paul Simon and made famous by Simon and Garfunkle and later by The Bangles to name a few. This version was arranged by Troy Thomas and myself and was partially inspired by the Monmouth College Vocal Jazz Ensemble. We lowered the key to Am and added a Flamenco flair to the song, especially to the bridge. Troy played the drums, percussion and keyboards and I played the guitar and bass and engineered the session. We both sang the lead and harmony vocals. |

Hear comments like “(they’re) blaspheming Elvis Presley” and “I’m Keller blind”. Included are excerpts from ‘That’s All Right (Mama), ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ and ‘Rock This Town’. They enjoyed the CD as well as poked a little fun at it in morning show fashion. This is a little diddy i wrote and recorded for my friend Honkey's TV skit on his show The Honkey Show, currently shown during the show Mega Music on cable access in St. Louis. For the skit we found a Dr. Richard Head in practice here in St. Louis and presented him a check for $1 for having the goofiest name in the telephone book. Go to www.nolimithonkey.com for more details. Honkey is also a fixture on The Steve and DC radio show (www.steveanddc.com) heard on 30 radio stations nationwide. |

This song features a mellow, bass driven groove reminiscent of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On?" Lyrically it's happy-go-lucky yet cynical and intentionally abstract. This version is performed by X-Plicit, a former band of mine that is now defunct. Click on the link "Song Lyrics and Story" for more information and performers. Logo by Tom Dunsworth. |
