get your free guestbook A native Chicagoan, flutist/singer/songwiter Suki Rae has been playing music since the age of five. A classically trained flutist, she has an MA in Music/Film and has been performing internationally for over 15 years. Awards include: ASCAP Popular Song Awards; American Song Festival; Nashville Song Festival and she was chosen as the only American finalist in the Hoiellart Jazz Festival in Belgium. She was also nominated for NAR and Just Plain Folks Song Awards. Her many performances across the globe include: Jerusalem Womens' Music Festival; Michigan Womens' Music Festival; Makor; St.Peter's Church; Universal Jazz Coalition's Women in Jazz Festival and MUNY's Texaco Bell Atlantic Jazz Festival. She has been a musician in residence at: Cornell University; the Hilai Colony in Mitzpe Ramon and Ma'alot Tarshiha, Israel; The Arad Arts Project in Arad, Israel; The Wurlitzer Foundation in Taos, New Mexico and Fundacion Vaparaiso in Mojacar, Spain. In April 2003 her song "My Bamboo Hat" was published in "Music Box and Other Delights. "She has also acted, directed, and written for theatre and films as well as appearing on Radio and TV. Her five self-produced recordings of original music include:"Pipedreams";Water and Fire;" and newly released "My Bamboo Hat," "I Think of You," and the single release,"Bugz in Da Bed." On her third release,"Cantique de Noel," she plays all Christmas carols.
