On April 20, 1984, a bar in St. Louis was raided by city vice squad detectives, ostensibly for liquor law violations. In fact, it was a police crackdown on punk rock. Thirty-six minors were arrested and charged with drinking, including many straight-edge punks who requested (and were refused) breath tests. Due to the sensational aspects of the raid, the story made front page news in St. Louis. Among those detained was Bill Boll. This is his story. |
