feb. 1, 2003: please visit the ochmoneks iuma site for an adequate selection of songs. please do not download songs from this site. thanks!
january 15, 2003: MP3.com does it again! After years of decreasing commitment to the artists that make them their money, MP3.com has finally crossed the line. Despite the fact that their users accept ads that make them a fortune on their sites, MP3.com now requests yet more money from the musicians that made them the empire that they are. Musicians aren't rich, people. Please read the notice that has been given to all MP3.com artists: "After January 31, only Gold and Platinum Artists can display up to 100 songs on their Artist page. Basic Artists can display a maximum of three songs on their Artist page. On January 31, all Basic Artist pages with four or more songs will automatically default to display the three most recently uploaded songs. However, the Song Admin allows Artists to quickly and easily change the songs they would like displayed through the Arrange Song List feature. Please note, you will not need to re-upload songs as a result of this change."
The ability to rotate songs is meaningless; anyone who has ever used an MP3.com site realizes that there is only one shot to attract a new listener: the first. If this shot is no longer available, then Ochmoneks will no longer support MP3.com. While material will still be available on this page, we encourage you to boycott MP3.com altogether and visit iuma, instead. Created by artists for artists, iuma is an undernoticed alternative to the unappreciative folk at MP3.com
