Artist Bio:
Colin Delargy is a 17 year old highschool student with a passion
for progressive music, especially how it integrates with technology.
He has been producing electronic music for over a year, moving
from simple programming, to software synthesizers, into the
realm of midi and analog production. His styles revolve around
mellow, minimal, and subtle melodies, and complex rhythms. He
sites some of his influences as Paul Oakenfold, Anabolic Frolic,
LTJ Bukem, and Massive Attack, giving a wide range of experience
to work with.
Instruments:
I've used
a lot of different instruments, but have started to hold onto
a few in particular, as they are easy to work with and create
lovely sounds.
Yamaha RM1x
The RM1x is
a powerful sequence remixer that I use as my mainstay. It has
wonderful percussion sounds, and some useful pads, synths and
basses. If you have ever used one of these instruments, you
will know what I mean when I say that it really makes production
easier. If you are interested in purchasing one a Yamaha RM1x,
check out Zzounds.com,
who is offering free shipping on all USA orders. The list price
is $899.00, but you can expect them to go for $700 or less.
I bought mine used, and was satisfied with it (after wiping
the memory clean, which is an easy task). I would recommend
it to anybody who is interested in getting into MIDI production.
Pros:
Easy to learn basics, lots of features, good for live preformance.
Cons: Terrible keyboard, but better than nothing. Only
one of midi in, midi out and through port each.
