Flashback to 1967 - the Summer of Love...
From Calhoun, Kentucky, all that seemed so very far away, but we were doing what
we could to capture the world's imagination.
We needed a #1 hit record. We rented time at Raymond Rich's studio in Central City,
and recorded "Julie" and "Next Time".
Raymond liked the songs, and invited us back to record more, as demos for his friend
Chet Atkins, head of RCA Nashville.
The rest is obscure history. These nearly-forgotten tapes,
rediscovered and digitally doctored, constitute the great lost Sir Arthur & Co. album, "Bubbles in the Backwater".
We had no idea, at the time, that we were making an album, nor that it would be the last we'd play music together,
but we just went at these songs as if it mattered...
I got hooked on writing and recording songs, and I'm still at it.
