Chains of Freedom is an intricately woven sonic tapestry. This melodic musical odyssey compliments it's challenging lyrical connotations and metaphors with precision rhythmic punctuation and heavy-handed guitar work. Bass and drums work in tandem throughout the song to build dynamic intensity, while the guitar enforces the underlying and reoccurring themes throughout. Vocals soar strategically across a carefully plotted, well-orchestrated composition with a melodic grace that will awaken even the coldest ear! Musically, this song is likened to Parallels-era Fates Warning or Warning-era Queensryche, albiet a bit more ambitious. |

With its mid-tempo streamlined accessibility, "No More" will be the Mindcage song that really sticks with you. This hook-laden tune seems to be a bit of a crossover into mainstream. We have found that it holds a strong appeal for people who are not necessarily fond of prog or metal. Rest assured, this cut will also appeal to the die-hard prog metal enthusiast!! With a heartfelt, emotional verse and a stirring chorus.. this song is more than just a showcase for the vocal abilities of Mike Gray. The guitars and rhythm section are also prominent and captivating throughout. Heavy guitars meet with clean, pristine melodic flat-picking undercurrents. Though it is often likened to "Parallels" era Fates Warning, "Empire" era Queensryche, and a touch of 90's Alice in Chains thrown in.. you can definitely hear the unique Mindcage signature sound permeating the track. | MP3.com CD: Mindcage Encapsulation Sampler - buy it!

This song is a flat out Speed/Power Metal euro-rocker. The only time we let up is for a momentary "Beatles-esque" harmony verse, before we immediately dive back into the furious riffing that the song centers around. The vocals on this cut are reminiscent of Graham Bonnet on steroids, with some melodic Steve Perry thrown in to bridle back this juggernaut. Teutonic influences also make their presence known here. Many call this our Helloween or Gamma Ray type song, but it feels quite original and natural to us. Check it out, and see what you think. |
