The old Hank Williams tune, later redone by the immortal Patsy Cline. Here's my take on this country classic. |

This is a beautiful song about life, growing older and looking back on where you've been. Kate Wolf is a wonderful songwriter and well worth hearing more of. |

This is an acapella version of the famous and much-covered W.C. Handy tune.My version is loosely based on the classic Bessie Smith version. When I spoke to the great-granddaughter of W.C. Handy (who works at Handy Bros. Publishing Co.) about recording this song, she told me this was the first time she was aware of that this song had been recorded acapella. Singing it acapella allowed me to create an internal "drive" to the song that I couldn't find with accompaniment. I welcome all comments on this recording. |
