Charm city native and Brooklyn resident "Anom" [an open mind] reopens eyes and minds to forgotten truisms and simultaneously forays into untapped topical realms. In the track "Without A Shadow of a Doubt," Anom articulates his intent to "renovate old clichés worn and tarnished with age / calling card read "Anom"-- artisan of my trade / trail blaze uncharted waves, saturate as I spray..." while orating to broaden the listener's perspective, this pensive emcee also relies on his findings to maintain an open mind himself-- demonstrated by the musing "take words to higher planes-- parables I create / sought a place of refuge; a recluse in the abandon / examine the parameters for clues where I’m standing..."On the animated b-side "Open Season," Anom exhibits repartee as well as introspection. From one verse to the next, "open mind" flaunts perpetual rhyme schemes as he boasts "the way I do it will have you bouncing like acoustics / show and prove world exclusives / headlines: my name in newsprint / son, I pay dues -- I use my two cents / conducive to move kids..." but Anom's penchant for word play doesn't sidetrack his propensity to explore experience as a catalyst for progress: "with accurate aim, I rack my brain for artifacts and data contained / with that explained -- set and gather remains from out the annals..." through rhyme, Anom opens minds and cultivates an open mind. |
