As an instrumental Acid Rain is universally understandable. Although nearly five minutes long, the time seems to float by as your mind makes its own unique mental video that creates awareness and hopefully change.
I guess its a slight return, to classical music.
African music is rich in polyrhythms, its roots are in the sounds of the wild. Western music is a melting pot of world rhythms, with Rock being the heart beat. Interestingly we see Industrial music also using the sounds and rhythms of day to day life in the urban enviroment. As John Cage said to imitate nature in her manner of operation |

Not quite true, Waves was Originally recorded with just two guitars Left and Right on a Normal cassette tape with a very basic mic. The Bass and Flute were added later when it was transfered onto four track. The Bass & Flute are in fact a Mini Moog |
