GEL has a total of seven self-released CDs (Lilly6 Productions). His latest release is HEALING OF THE HEART, which has a Christian Adult Alternative flavor. Although his main instrument is guitar, he plays bass guitar, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboards, and sings lead and background vocals for most of his recordings.

GEL was born in Homestead AFB, Florida. Growing up in a military family, moving and experiencing different cultures, helped shape GEL's diverse and eclectic style. His father initially influenced him while growing up as a child, as he would listen to his father play the guitar, imitating music by Jimmy Reed, Jerry Butler, BB King, Chuck Berry, and many Motown artists. Later through the years, GEL developed a taste for other styles of music with influences like Joe Satriani, Celine Dion, Sarah McLachlan, Martina McBride to name a few.

After graduating from high school, GEL received a full scholarship to West Point (United States Military Academy). It was while at West Point that GEL started learning to play the guitar and fell in love with making his own music. After many years of playing guitar and developing his own style of music, influenced by many great artists, he decided to step out and share his music publicly with much encouragement from friends and family.

In early 1999, he and two friends decided to form a band and perform all original music. In the summer of 1999, the band won 3rd place in the Clinton County Fair Talent Contest performing one of GEL's songs. GEL also won 1st place at the fair as a soloist, performing another one of his songs with the band as backup. The band was short-lived. Nevertheless, it gave GEL the motivation to branch out as a solo artist, giving him the freedom to produce his own style of music which is a smooth blend of life experiences with positive themes in a unique ballad style that makes his songs thought provoking and refreshing.

GEL has been actively writing and performing his music at a local level for many years. His first love is his music, and he financially supports his musical endeavors by capitalizing on his other talents. Nevertheless, he would like to be able to devote all of his working time to writing, performing and supporting his music. He wants to share his music with everyone that will listen and possibly, touch someones life, he says.
