Recorded at the end of a tour in April, '95, in Nashville at Bottom Third Studio. An early version of the song, its success owes much to the all-sorts-expertise of our good buddy Randy Leago, who engineered, mixed, produced and provided the cavaquinho and percussion tracks. Words and music by Little Jack Melody, Khaki Music, BMI

We'd begun to demo the material that would evolve into the "my charmed life" album, and this "cigar" is only a cigar, as is sometimes the case. Credits: Little Jack Melody- vocal; Dave Dorbin- tuba; Chopper Bergeron- drums; Jim Cocke- keyboard; Jacob Duncan- saxophone.Words and music by Little Jack Melody, Khaki Music, BMI. This interview and feature aired on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" program way back in March of 1992. Our first CD, "On the Blank Generation" had caught the ear of Marika Partridge, the show's editor, who suggested the piece to co-anchor Noah Adams. The interview took place via satellite hookup, with Adams in Washington and me at NPR affiliate KERA FM in Dallas. |
