Richard Hedders
The Richard Hedders' StoryThe Richard Hedders have been
playing their type of rock (Bastard Rock) for more than a half a decade now. The
Richard Hedders started out as four guys sneaking into high school talent show
in Eugene, OR. Armed with catchy lyrics, an insane stage show, base humor, a few
guitar slides and some naked pictures of the judge's mom, The Richard Hedders
won the talent show and set out to conquer the rock world. And according to Safe
as Milk Magazine, "...coming together like a punk rock fairy tale and they just
might do it."
Some six years after that first gig at the talent show the Hedders have
shared the stage with Swingin' Utters, 30 Foot Fall, Lagwagon, Cigar, The
Automtics, Apt. 3G and Less Than Jake, playing what a Hedder might describe as,
"Music that is a reflection of everything we like in society set to power
cords."
The Hedders' success is due to their live act and energy driven music. "The
band's chemistry is truly a style all its own, feeding off one another in a
perfect sybiotic relationship. These guys have a unique style of music and a
'controlled chaos' style of performing," states The Barometer of Oregon State.
These opinions were echoed in Flipside Magazine: "This CD is pleasurably raw and
wittier than anything The Vandals have put out in years... worth getting."
The five piece band consists of: E-Rok (Git, Vox), Slammy (Git), Big Jake
(Bass), Drew Lee Roth (Vox, Bone), and Seņor Jon (Crappiest Drums). The current
line-up has been together since Big Jake's girlfriend was in the 6th grade (two
years ago).
