Joe Reavy is the son of famous Irish traditional
composer Ed Reavy. "Reavy" is a mix of reels with unusual
instrumentation (but still based on the fiddle prowess he shares
with his father) and Irish poetry set to music, by writers such as
Joseph Campbell, Thomas MacDonagh, and Eleanor Hull.
NEW track added - The Morning Star/Sportin' Molly/Philip O'Beirne's Delight!
Review: 'Reavy' reviewed by the Philadelphia Inquirer.

A touching poem by Thomas MacDonagh (1878-1916), set to music. Ned is on the run and pursued by enemy forces. He seeks the consolation of Mother Ireland and her protective mantle. But he knows full well that in the end nothing will console him as he faces the threat of ultimate exile from his besieged country. --- Dedicated to Ed Reavy, Jr |
