Welcome to Danny Schmidt's MP3 page.
For more info, and a bunch more MP3s,
please visit Danny's main website at:
http://www.dannyschmidt.com
Danny has released three albums to date:
Make Right the Time (released May 2003)
Enjoying the Fall (released July 2001)
Live at the Prism Coffeehouse (released August 1999)
Since MP3.com has changed their policy, allowing artists that are on
the Chintzy Plan to only post three songs at a time, we've decided to only
post three songs at a time. So, we're posting one song from each album.
This, of course, is a very cursory and incomplete introduction to Danny's music.
So, for much more info, and many more tunes, come by:

Enjoy the tunes, and let us know what you think.

"Perhaps more than any song on the album, McCreary's Pipes really shows what Danny can do on the guitar. Not just is it brilliantly original guitar work technically, but musically, he uses the guitar to help tell the story, as the guitar line evolves with the story, as it unfolds. And a unique story it is, too -- puts a new twist on war and patriarchy." |

This is the opening song off the new CD, "Enjoying the Fall." Musically, the song features some snazzy guitar picking. Lyrically, it tells a dark apocolyptic tale of the church's mixed up teachings being responsible for a gay-bashing death. And offers a metaphysical warning that if the church doesn't stay true to its word when preaching Love, then the heavens themselves will come crashing down, since they're held up by nothing but those same tenuous words.

This is a take on the Sept 11th tragedy. And the tragedy of the when the grieving process never makes it past anger. |
