    Story Behind the Song
This song was written after a telephone call from a long lost love. At the time of the break up, I was crushed, but I moved on. Then came the call. Toward the end of the call I said, "You're still unhappy, guess it wasn't me". After I hung up, the song was written in less than 10 minutes.

It took a long time for me to like this song, as it hit a little too close to home. Truth be told, I didn't play it all that much and it eventually ended up in a folder.

Years later, someone requested the song while I was playing an art festival. I stumbled through it.

Funny how time changes things, the song seemed like an old friend. It has been in my set list ever since.

    Lyrics
    name

    you called out my name
    something's never change
you called me to clear your head
    i listened to you
    what you're going through
same story same words i've heard before

    not calling to say hello
or to see how i am
just calling to lean on a friend

    i called out your name
    begged you to stay
words empty fallen on the floor
    you wanted to be free
it made a wreck of me
couldn't hold you so i walked away

    not calling to say hello
or to see how i am
just calling to lean on a friend

so now you're on the line
    talking like old times
still unhappy guess it wasn't me
    you hang up the phone
    you're still all alone
careful what you wish for it might come true
be careful what you wish for it might come true
careful what you wish for it might come true
