A dirty look at the dark side of addiction, driven by the drums. |

Story Behind the Song
It's funny how out of control of ourselves we are. We can't choose if we become an abusive husband, a difficult person or an alcholic. This is a song about waking up one day, looking in the mirror, and realising you don't recognise yourself. How did you let yourself become a such a bad person? That wasn't part of the master plan!
Lyrics
What is it that drives you, time after time
To see the world in which we live, through distorted eyes
You're disgusting and bad tempered when you're sober
Have a few beers and you're good fun
But how can you get out of bed in the morning
When you've been out on the piss until dawn
You're a kid who got old, you're a kid who got fat
A man who hides his fear behind a wall of hate
You can't see anything, you can't see past yourself
The hurt that you feel it is the hurt that you share
Watching you get drunk through the bottom of my glass
Clearing my cluttered mind and having some fun
When I'm drunk you seem a whole lot nicer
When I'm drunk you even seem like a friend
When you go out drinking until dawn
I sit up with you, and share in that fun
Somehow I let myself, slip away
I look back at eighteen months of blur
What is it that drives me, time after time
To see the world in which I live, through distorted eyes
