	Story Behind the Song At the beginning of my concert career I had had planned everything---what I would wear, what I would play, the order of the program...I never took into account that the audience would ask for an encore. One night, this happened. I sat back down at the piano and after a long 30 seconds or so, began to improvise on an old favorite---a REAL old favorite, a piece written in 1645, Pachelbel's Canon in D. Improvising on the piece has become a concert tradition, and each time I perform it, I discover new ways to play it 'in the moment' which is great fun. At the urging of many audience members over the years, I finally included it on CD. I performed an improvisation on the Canon during the recording session for "Dreaming of Summer"-- it is the 'bonus track' of the CD. Enjoy!
