Story Behind the Song
The CD was recorded, mixed and produced at Mr. Toad's Recording Studio, 5th & Bluxome, San Francisco. Rhythm tracks were recorded live in the studio as a three piece. No one got more than two or three tries to get it right. Vocals and about half the solos were overdubbed. This was meant to be done on the cheap as a demo and probably ended up somewhere between the lo-fi thing and whatever that other thing is. Leroy says you should check it out 'cause it has its moments and you should hear 'em.
Lyrics
I got a mean hearted woman, but I love her just the same
I got a mean hearted woman, but I love her just the same
She's got a way of saying things that make me sweat
But I can't find a way to forget her yet
I've tried everything that's in my book
But all she's gotta do is give me one look
I got a mean hearted woman, but I love her just the same
I got a mean hearted woman, but I love her just the same
I bought you a dinner - we had a good time
The next thing I knew you accused me of lyin'
You tell me your problems - I tell you I care
You say it's a trick and asked me who cut my hair
I got a mean hearted woman, but I love her just the same
I got a mean hearted woman, but she's drivin' me insane
I got a mean hearted woman, but I love her just the same
I got a mean hearted woman, but I love her just the same
I meet you down town - you're havin' a fight
With the girl behind the counter of light
We get out of there with barely a scratch
But then you and I, we start a rematch
I bought you a dinner - we had a good time
The next thing I knew you accused me of lyin'
You tell me your problems - I tell you I care
You say it's a trick and asked me who cut my hair
I got a mean hearted woman, but I love her just the same
I got a mean hearted woman, but she's drivin' me insane
I got a mean hearted woman, but I love her just the same
I got a mean hearted woman, but I love her just the same
