A gift to those who are waiting for db to record. You may have to wait for the new songs (particularly this one, and Sonora) to be fully recorded and finished. This was one of the first performances of Downtown, and it stands here completely unedited and completely stark. This song is beautiful, and we all thought it was a pity a lot more people couldn't hear it. Whether the genre is appropriate or not, I'll leave to the Shoegaze people. . . Enjoy. | MP3.com CD: Conduit EP - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
Funny that. Truthfully, after Wil wrote the first chapter of his book, it was a short-story, read only by a few of his closest friends. Ozzy was one of them, and after reading it, he wrote the music to this song. Months later, it solidified in the jam space finally, with lyrics written by Wil in a piece of writing called 'Introvert'. The two came together and ended up telling the story of the mental state of the character of Sam in the chapter. The story is called 'Hold On To That', and is available in the writing section of the db webpage.
Lyrics
It takes so much to try and keep it simple,
too much to try and play that game for long.
Your drive to untie the knots is dwindling,
and you take the fork to something undefined.
Time flies when stories are told,
it's hard to keep yourself distinct.
Will you know which life is yours?
Will you know the difference before it's too late?
It was never too late to find another direction
But you never did.
It was never too late to find the name in question
But you never did.
Truth is, it found you on the road and caught you,
Wandering, listless.
Truth is, it spoke itself and came through,
Wandering, Downtown.
