    Story Behind the Song
Well, this song was made a month before it was gonna get laid down, but all the parts were not done and tested. The lyrics, bass solo, and guitar were created the day if not night before we got to the recording studio. We were all equally surprised when hearing the parts being laid down. Drums then, bass and some guitar, followed by some strange guitar stuff that was unexpected, the was carried along by a killer bass solo, and all put to rest by awe-inspiring lyrics. Yeah, we all came to love this song, it's a product of Unit-1 and it was chosen to carry the name of the album. I would say it's the icing on the cake for the demo- album but it's just as tasty as all our other songs. We each have favorites but I think it could be said this song is a favorite of everyone in the band.

    Lyrics
How deep the sadness that I feel

To see you wonder if Im real

To taste you bite me in the hand

The hands that feeds the ones called man

Heaven sent, you fall but your back again

Rusted chains bind you to the rock of sin

Young men wear the souls of a thousand old

Burden lightened if you just did what youre told

You cry, I grieve, a cycle begun

In a time when the world was a lonely one

Ashes of the calm had their silence torn

On the dawn of the sixth when you were born

    And on the eighth day

The fear of man is lord

    And on the eighth day

    The judgement hand writes evermore

Open wounds made hard by the hearts of stone

Sometimes its better to leave well enough alone

This life is as you all so choose

Understand it's not part of the plan to lose

    And on the eighth day

The fear of man is lord

    And on the eighth day

    The judgement hand writes evermore

You blame me for your stalling

Ive called, you hear no calling

I've stood before you a bruised, beaten, defeated man

Trying to justify to myself all this pain

They told me to believe during my roughest time,

    when the going gets tough

But during all this suffering, I hae to ask

    Were you really there?

    "SHHH"

    "IT'S ALRIGHT"

    "MY SON"

TO KNOW PEACE YOU MUST FIRST KNOW WAR

New day, new night, but the times the same

Who ever said the only constant in life is change?

Humans raw acts of war diminish the truth

With the faith of a rock, a mountain moves

    And on the eighth day

The fear of man is lord

    And on the eighth day

    Your judgment hand writes evermore

You blame me for your stalling

Ive called, you hear no calling

    Hear me now

    Youve got to trust somehow

    Carve the way

    For the ninth day

How deep the sadness that I feel

To see you wonder if Im real

To taste you bite me in the hand

From which you fed, for you it bled
