Story Behind the Song
This song was inspired by a comment made by Jewel where she said that her favorite poem was "Your Breast Is Enough" by Pablo Mueruda. I had assumed that even verse would be "your heart is enough", "your eyes are enough", etc. When I read the poem it was nothing like that so I thought, "I can steal my own idea" heheh During the 5 weeks it took to write this song, I finally met the girl who was "enough" for me and that helped me finish it.
Lyrics
Enough
By Ron Hill
c) 1999 Happier Productions
Don’t think, you’re not enough
And don’t think I’ll be looking for too much
You know that you move me beyond,
From the cynical to the impossible.
Your eyes – more than enough,
For they see me and find me with their touch.
It feels like soft rain in the wind.
Lights the typical with the beautiful.
Why do you think there’s more
You have to do?
When I am overwhelmed
By purely you.
Why are you so afraid,
I’d leave you alone?
When I have found the one
I call my home.
Where else would I go
For the peaceful glow?
To keep it alive is to know,
Your voice is enough,
For it feeds me and it leads me to a hush.
It sounds like echoes in the wind.
It leads me in, and my life begins.
Your heart is enough,
For it makes me and molds me with it’s love.
You know that it moves me into more –
From the physical, to the emotional.
It’s inevitable.
You are more than enough.
