Story Behind the Song
This is a tune I wrote with a little bit of a Buck Owens feel to it. It was recorded live in my living room, on a four track with one microphone stuck in the middle of the room. Very cool.
Lyrics
When you told me you were going away,
I didn't know you were going to stay,
And you've been gone,
A long, lonely time.
Right after you ran away,
I found myself a barstool and stayed,
And I tried, To drink you off my mind.
(Chorus)
Maybe someday you will come back,
If you could hear me crying,
You'd be sorry for what you've done,
and, You'd Come Back
To Me Baby
Everybody told me so, told me you were
Gonna go,
But You know, I never was that bright.
I'm not the brightest one in the bunch,
And baby I'm just dumb enough,
To wait, the rest, of my life.
(Chorus)
