"This emotively powerful ballad appeals through it's emotionally-charged lyrics, delivered in a reflective story-telling style. The well crafted, harmonic quality takes the listener on a journey of cathartic self-discovery which is as honest as it is personal……"

    Story Behind the Song
The verses are a painted perspective of the angles one perceives while in a state of remorse and sorrow, where self-expression can be your only companion.

The choruses portray both an emotive desire to break free from the self-inflicted guilt and pity that beguile you as you attempt the fateful journey upward, out of the pit of your despair, and simultaneously a plaintive cry for the true freedom that can only be experienced within the firm yet gentle hands of the one that you truly love.

The bridge is reflective upon the balance herein, or lack thereof, and how the tension created from a problematic relationship can sometimes be a catalyst to the solitude you may need in order to come to a point of resolve in your life. desperation can engender a soul-searching through which clearer judgement and a positive outcome may follow, if the right action is taken.

    Lyrics
Although the lyrics were some heartfelt poetry of mine, the music for the song was written (mainly) in the corner of a music-technology class as an impromtu class-project recording, so all the members of the class would have something to take home on CD with them. Not very romantic I know, but those five to ten minutes frantically writing a chord chart to my words with the headphones on in the corner during class were a "moment of truth" for me. The "we've-only-got-time-for-one-take-guys" one (yes, one) take for everything were my chance to unleash the passion I had inside me, to initiate the process which had both excited and taunted me my whole life. I knew if I didn't make something happen now, I'd probably never start. [since doing this on-take-wonder the new demo has been uploaded to this site which was redone completely from scratch in less than 10 hours to completion. The vocals were done in only one take due to running out of time, but this is not a commercial release as yet; it's a demo.]
You see, during my life I had escaped from so many candid opportunities to expose my abilities; I'd always shyed away, for fear of exposing the very part of me that is most personal.

This is what differentiates me as an artist: I've known for many years what I must do, and have run from it, whereas most artists push themselves crazily in pursuit of the ungraspable. I truly feel what I write, and know how to express it to make other people feel it too. I hope it makes a difference to you. Because I realised that the reason I can do what I do is not about me, it is about you, and others like you. I believe I am expressing what others may feel, and if I am purposed to express, then express I will. The exposing of oneself is nothing when compared to the freeing of others.

    Lyrics
    A fear inside
    Can't let it go
It stops the truth from being so
    I miss you
And I wish you were mine.

    I care a lot
    And care is free
It doesn't mean I am carefree
    To know you
    Is what I truly desire

    Too many waters running dry
I bent to kiss you and I touched the sky
Before I kiss my youth goodbye...
    Make my spirit fly...
'cause without you - I'm just a lonely guy
And I can't believe I left you behind
And I can't live without you on my mind.

    I'm not looking anymore
'cause I've found what I've found
Now I've lost I've closed my door
Don't know what I was lookin' for...

    Candy runs
    Inside my veins
As hard as nails but it's fresh like rain
    To see you...
    It's worth all the pain

    Bitter moments, bitter tears
Around the world in 30 years
My life - a gallery of fears
    Forever in a day...
I've lost you now, and now is far away
The meaning of our love was swept away
The strength of feeling loved was yesterday
But pride has meant I've lost my way

    Fragility of being free
Sometimes I'd rather lock and key
If it means that you're with me...
    I'd throw it all away
    It's not much to pay.
