	An extended composition ballad with jazz, latin, rock and new age textures. My inspiration in writing this song came from the early Pat Metheny recordings. The middle section is very moody, mellow and features very tasteful piano soloing.

	Story Behind the Song I have been inspired by Pat Methenys' music over the years- in particular, "Phase Dance," from the white album release from 1977. "The Crossing" has the samba rhythm influence from this song, as well as lush pad textures throughout the extended piano solo section.
