A song that pulls from the infatuation of woman. A full band sound built off acoustic guitar, tight harmonies, bass, drums, and with a wonderfully melodic jazz/rock lead (Dead/Kimock/Matthews feel). |

Story Behind the Song
This song was written after meeting the woman of my dreams. The tense emotions of infatuation that fuel a relationship the first 6 mos - year were at full force. My love and pervertedness came together in a day as this song fell in my lap (few do). It is a praise, a worship of woman. The band has played this song out for two years and it took only two takes to nail down the foundation of the song in the studio.
Lyrics
Dreamin' Monkey
Sometimes when I'm a small, small man
Sometimes when I don't know who I am
You come to me in a whispering wind
Blow my hair back, tempting my skin
Would you not like to be over me, she said
Over me like a shuddering monkey?
My troubles wash away, my sorrows subside
Kissing me hello, kissing you goodbye
Oh Lady
Tie-dyed dancing free
Oh Lady
Running to dance with me
On top of the world empty head dream, dreaming
You race down from your moonbeam
Wrap around me like a thrilling ride
Lovers fantasies floating on the ocean tide
On the corner, on the street Westside,
On the star's sunny side
Not thinking about tomorrow, not thinking past today
Looking skyward, we're blown away
Chorus
Break
Would you not like to be over me? she said,
Over me like a shuddering monkey?
My troubles rush away, my sorrows subside
Kissing me hello, kissing you goodbye
Chorus
