    Story Behind the Song
This is the actual recording of Michael Haines writting "Cookout". While Mike was messing around on his guitar he discovered a cool chord. He followed it further and began to write a song. Once he realized he was on to something he decided to tape record the rest of the process. This recording as well as the other's have come from Michael Haines' personal practice tape. As he explained in the Molly Bloom take 1 and 2 clip he says "This a my tape that I'm using to just record everything, I'll make you another tape that weed out all the bullshit." That is not a direct quote but it's close enough.
