This composition is rich and almost as complex as Gate of Men, the title track of the album on which it appears. It is contructed on the ostinato rhythmic phrasing of a marimba. |

Story Behind the Song
CTAHOK (pronounced STANOKE) is Russian for "machine tool" which is realized by a unique reverberating hammering sound at the introduction and closing of this selection. This composition was composed in memory of my friend, Ken Borowski. While in college, Ken had an interest in learning Russian. I had studied Russian in high school, so I taught Ken this word which we occasionally and surrealistically used as a greeting instead of "hello".
