	Story Behind the Song The inspiration for the lyrics was a walk through the countryside of my boyhood home in Fortson, GA. The music, like "Lifelines", was developed very quickly, almost at the spur of the moment. This is another song that just "came together". The music is comprised of two distinct sections, the first being very soft and medatative while the second is much louder and connected, in the "awake" world. Lyrics Theres a road Near my boyhood home That winds to infinity Or so Im told The lines are painted yellow The trees obscure my view Over one more hill Or was it two or was it two A path that leads Thru a canopy of pines past an aging dwelling returning to the soil The stones all lie in ruins A chimneys all that stands Fading from the past into the gloom into my room (The) windows are open But the shutters bar my way The outside worlds reflected In the prism of my mind There are no road signs Theyve all disappeared Others have claimed them But theres not one I need The past is (always) calling but I cannot hear Searching for answers In overworn dreams The future; a mystery That cant be attained Lying before me As days pass away
