Story Behind the Song
At this point in the story, Anhedonia has already abducted Rain and has her held captive in his laboratory. You see, Anhedonia is preparing to extract some D.N.A. from Rains body. Rain already knows what Anhedonia is planning to do with her D.N.A. because he is following in the same footsteps as her father. Rain has never agreed with the direction Anhedonia is taking, for it is the research that got her father killed and is most likely going to get Anhedonia killed as well. That is why she realized that she can no longer be a part of his life. Rain can only wonder what Anhedonia plans to due with a cloned version of herself.
Lyrics
The Separator
Inside I possess
a torment raging within;
tearing an abyss
inside my mind.
Shattered, splintered, split;
my mind divided in two.
Can you see two of me,
for I know both of you
We have been divided,
a torment to ourselves.
Now is the time to decide
Should I fight you,
or should I fight myself
or simply lose my mind.
My severed thoughts collide
as within your mind.
How long till the time,
of the next divide
now that a part of you has died
I have been divided,
A torment to myself.
Now is the time to decide
if a part of me dies,
to free the other side
Will I still lose my mind
Can I ever free my mind?
