	Story Behind the Song This music was written for a ballet that premiered in Newport, RI, and was later performed around Southern New England during the course of three years. The original score was written in two months and was later revised to include additional dances which expanded the length of the ballet. This scene was written for the baby birds who live in the castle of the sorcerer and the love birds who want to be together, but the sorcerer locks them up separately in cages.
