A more serious look at Missionary work.
    CD: Missionary Stuff
    Credits: Written by Grady Tolland

    Story Behind the Song
This song was actually written by a man named Grady Tolland. He's an ABWE missionary in Chili (last I heard). It takes a look at the more serious side of being a missionary. Specifically the deputation time before a missionary actually makes it to the field of service.

    Lyrics
    Missionary﷓ Stuff - Caypo = 2nd Fret

It's not D trekking through the jungle in the steaming heat,
It's not A eating shishkebob made of monkey meat,
It's not G cutting up pythons with your pocket knife,
That A makes the biggest part of a missionary's D life.

But it's G praying that your kids'Il just take a nap
While you're D tryin' to find a church with a hand drawn map
It's G raising your kids from the front seat of your A car
While you're G drivin down the road tryin' to A figure out where you D are.

It's not D cruising down the river in a dug-out log
It's not A being guest of honor where they're serving dog.
It's not G shooting the breeze in Bengali with the A old D Guru

But it's G getting rid of things that you've had for years
While you D try to pack a barrel through a blur of tears
It's G saying goodbye to Grandma just one more A time.
While you're G sitting in the Airport just A pretendin' that you're feeling D fine.

It's not D wearing funny clothes in a foreign land.
It's not A speaking "jungle-ease" like the natives can.
It's not G baptizing thousands in a single day.
Or A always getting what you wanted every time you D pray.

But it's G growing to love people that you've come to know.
And D rejoicing in the changes as you see them grow.
It's G being amazed at all the things God has A done
And then it's G going home on furlough when you
A feel like you have just D begun
