	Story Behind the Song My new CD "Space Island" has been a musical adventure that hearkens back to my first album "Solo," which was an unaccompanied collection of songs that I wrote for the acoustic string bass. I wanted to demonstrate what that instrument could do alone, that it has a unique "voice." On "Space Island" I am the "band," playing almost all of the parts of each song on my (one of a kind) N.S. design six string electric upright bass. To me, the big challenge was to emulate the sound and feel of guitars, keyboards, percussion and horns and to create new sounds. Also, I wanted the music to come first, so that when you listen, you enjoy the songs, not just focusing on a bass solo. In order to accomplish this I needed a unique instrument, designed from the ground up to accommodate my technique and style of playing.... a bass that would inspire and enable me to create new sounds. Hillbilly Hip-Hop - My vocal-rap debut over a catchy groove put together by Tommy D, featuring only bass and drums.
