Story Behind the Song
A former band mate was obsessed with a girl that he dated briefly. The relationship ended without real resolution, so he began watching her from a distance. Not really stalking yet, but I wrote the song taking the behaviour to it's natural conclusion - a person stalking his/her former love. This was written and first recorded back in 1987 with the band I was with (Babble and Rhetoric), but rearranged and recorded at my home in Redmond, Wa during the record rainy winter of 1999. All instruments either played or MIDI'ed by myself, and the recording process was really quick. It was the mixdown that took the longest time: about three months after several re-remixes before I was satisfied that I got the effect I was looking for. Not for the squeamish...
