Story Behind the Song
Winds of Change
Sometimes it seems our lives are so turbulent,
Are the old ways always right ?
Is change always for the better ?
Is change ever for the better ?
This song comes from my heart,
and when I sing it,
I feel a certain energy that channels through me,
I have a fear in life,
that there are so many things,
That I want to get done,
but we are only given,
so much time.
It seemed that we returned to Chicago,
to record these tracks for a reason.
We laugh about the time 15 years ago,
when I kidnaped Tim from Omaha,
threw his guitar and stuff in the back of my car,
and drove Chicago for our first recording session.
The have always been some unexplained forces at play,
during our lives that brings us together.
Sometimes we don't have to worry ,
about going left or right,
we just have to hold on,
and believe....
Thomas Auqinas O'Brien 1999
Lyrics
Winds of Change
Winds of change blowing
outside my door
speaks to me softly
tells me to change
there's a nightbird thats calling
calling to me
say's son don't you worry
all in good time
and the answer you look for
it comes from within
and you know you could hear it
if you would listen
on a road that less traveled
so much to be seen
the journey the reason
that takes you there
There's a full moon thats rising
outside my door
making me give
just a little bit more
like the leaves that have fallen
the days have gone by
living life to the fullest
and have no regrets
