Story Behind the Song
David Deva recorded this song in Fall of 1999, and then added Tribal Drumming by Jami Deva. The original lyrics were very negative, and deciding to change perspectives a bit, David Deva joined with Jami Deva and Shaylene Willis on additional lyrics.
The idea is that the author no longer wants to put any energy into being negative towards the world around him, and feels that Universal laws will help move us into a happier, better life, if we also try to make life happier and better for other people and sentient beings (such as animals). There is also the idea that we have to fill our "life with Good Things", which implies proactive action, removing negative people and negative environments out of your life.
The song concludes with the taoist idea that a better life is found through seeking the "center", and also the buddhist idea of staying in "love and light."
Lyrics
Don't have time for dragging people down.
There's a better way to live,
Fill your life with Good Things,
And give Good Things to everyone.
Good Things are going to come this way;
Can you believe?
Ignite our intense freedom,
Embrace the celestial dawn...
Seek the center in love and light
And the soul can do no wrong.
