"Last Exit (Joey's Song)" | genre: Acoustic | |

The music for the song was originally a song called "Don't Look Back", which I wrote for graduation. The new lyrics were written the day my Cousin Joey died, and I sang this song at his funeral. |

Story Behind the Song
It was difficult or perform, but I built up the strength and courage for my Aunt and Cousin-In-Law to perform at the funeral.
I recorded it mostly to give a copy to each of them.
Lyrics
Last Exit (Joeys Song)
Matt Corkum
God gave his only son
And now he's taken one away
Crucifying all of us
With so much agony and pain
In this life, we will never know
Why God has done the things he's done
In this life, we will never know
Why God has taken him away
Away, away from us
We'll never hold him again
And through the years, things will change
Things will never be the same
We will miss you
You know it's true
We will miss you
Always and forever more
So many tears falling down
So many lives torn apart
We hold each other and say "it's okay"
But we all know it's not
I see the tears in your eyes
I can only imagine your pain
I feel the love in all of us
I know he felt the same
Filled our lives with such happiness
Through all the good times and the bad
Not even thirty years old
Oh my God, what have you done?
We will miss you
You know it's true
We will miss you
Always and forever more
Instead of such tormenting pain
Why can't we just feel the love?
Just take a breath, and a good look around
And see how much he has done
We'll keep on driving on this road of life
You know that's what he would want
Think of all the great times we've shared
And hold onto everything we can
We will miss you
You know it's true
We will miss you
Always and forever more
