Story Behind the Song
This song was written because the way I felt in those days. The lyrics express my feelings.
I wrote the song at home, it took about a half year to write it. It was recorded in 4 evenings.
Lyrics
The Mice that made us Men
"Human, we used to be exactly like them,
flawed, weak, organic,
But we evolved to include to synthetic,
Now we use both to attain perfection"
In the hierarchy of life, we fight a constant strife
Distinctly you subdivide, the weak deserve no pride
Live your life with no regrets, you'll be the one without the debts
Just don't forget the ones, who gave you that fair chance
Why? They can't explain,
But in their minds it will remain:
"We will always remember the mice, that made us men"
But why don't you remove those mousetraps, then?
A slight decay of reputation, confines the end of your civilisation
Once there on your last sway, the way back fades away
The next step is to wait, losing is your fate
Not taught to act on your own, your catch has promptly flown
The mice don't yet build that shrine
Because the men still hear that line:
"We will always remember the mice, that made us men"
Don't discard us as labrats, stick to your plan
"Look! Water is leaking from her eyes!
It's what they call 'tears', it's a sign of their weakness"
"Perhaps you should de-activate your emotion chip for now"
"The first night's the toughest, no doubt about it,
Old life blown away in the blink of an eye,
Nothing left but all the time in the world"
"I think you're the bravest man I've ever known"
A battle lost predecidedly,
Within the system around me.
Still, there is one gain,
In my head, their echoes remain:
"We will always remember the mice, that made us men"
Try to live out your dreams, while you still can!
