Story Behind the Song
Originally scored by Chris George for multiple cellos, this is the first piece that Invert ever learned together, hence the title.
A short introductory piece that highlights many distinguishing traits of Invert's repetoire: a flowing melody, a hypnotic rhythmic underpinning, and a harmonic edge influenced by rock and neo-classical musicals equally.
Digitally recorded June 11, 2000 at Helen Yee's former apartment (just 3 blocks from the Dakota!) - Neumann U87 microphones courtesy of Dreamhire.
Special thanks to sound-man extraordinaire Rob Girardi for trekking up from Baltimore to engineer the session.
