Story Behind the Song
Rusty says: Dave and I argued a bit over the direction this song should take - I wanted it to stay quiet, and Dave wanted it to explode out of the intro. Well, in time Dave convinced me he was right, and the song took off from there. Looking back, I'm especially proud of the changes in this song, and of the simple underlying groove that gets exposed near the end. This is probably our best work due in part to its complexity, and in part to Dave's vision.
On an editorial note, it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I discovered "encapsuled" wasn't really a word. Well, "encapsulated" just wouldn't have worked, in retrospect.
Lyrics
These wasted hollow faces
Set in stone grow pale at night
Oh, no more
Captive sadness hints of madness
Empty fire it sheds no light
Oh, no more
And I hate to see you go...
Sweet angel, come and murder me
King Faithful loves to say
I see...
I see the pattern of your ways, now
You leave it every single day
Once chosen, the rest it comes with ease
This last change for today
My love...
It would be best if you just stayed, now
Wrapped up, encapsuled in my pain
One more for the sun
One more for the rain
I can't deny my fate
I can't deny my fate
My world it needs some rain
I'm going to burn until I fade away
One more for the sun
One more for the rain
I see..
I see the errors of your ways, now
You need it every single day
One more for the sun
One more for the rain
