    Story Behind the Song
Kenny Allen recorded this track on a project he was working on at Kahl/Reece studio. The project was just music tracks. I heard the track and liked it. I asked if I could put a guitar on it and write words to it. Well, Flash wrote her lines and I wrote mine and we put it together with the help of Bruce Reece, co producer. We had a lot of fun putting the vocals down on this one.
Check out Kenny Allen on this one. He plays drums, bass and keys. Very talented
    and very cool.......

    Lyrics
    On Down The Road
(Kenny Allen / Flash Grimes / Louis Kahl)
    Bayou Mountain Music, (BMI)

You use to bring me flowers, just 'bout every day
We use to talk for hours, why you'd even listen to every word I'd say
But lately you've been goin' out, stayin' out all night long
If you don't want me no more than get on down the road

If I've heard it once I heard it a million times before
You keep on runnin' that mouth baby,
You know your gonna' run me right out that door
Well I'm tired of this and I'm tired of that,
If you don't learn how to shut that trap,
I'll leave you baby, I'll go on down the road

Just one more thing I'll tell you before you go,
Just one more thing I'll say before you sa sha out that door
You treated me wrong for the very last time
This time ain't like before, go on and leave me baby,
I don't want you here no more

If that's the way you want it, then that's the way it's gonna' be
So don't tempt me baby, cause I'll be gone and you'll be missin' me, you'll see
I done told you once, now I'm tellin' you twice
I'm tired of hearin' all your gripes, I'll leave you baby,
I'll go on down the road
I'm leavin' you baby, I'm goin' on down the road
(well go on, get on outta here)
(wait a minute baby, I was just kiddin')
(and don't let the screen door hit you in the-)
