Story Behind the Song
After seeing a woman for a couple weeks, I felt sure that this would last, but I couldn't be sure. All I knew was, it felt very real, and very true. The song is very metaphorical in nature. It went through several revisions over a couple months before it became what it is. It was recorded in a self storage unit in Greensboro, NC.
Lyrics
Chorus:
And it feels so right, to go walking in the night...
I'm traveling, on this road, with a tired hand and a heavy load, but I'm seeing things, that tell me true, that I should love you.
I jumped the ship, and I was stranded
Pulled out the map, just to see where I'd landed
in this foreign place, with an angel's face
Maybe this was a big mistake
So I slowly walked, on the road of love
and the passersby, they couldn't see what i was scared of
But now's the time, and I'll make it fine
and I'll persevere, and I'll cross that line
