Story Behind the Song
This song is for anyone who's ever been in any kind of relationship with someone who drives you crazy. The feeling that nothing will help you get though it except for a bottle of booze. This song was written at Jonathan's house on July 4, 1999. He wrote it in about 2 hours. When Jonathan first recorded the vocals, he was suffering from a cold. He later came back and re-recorded the lead vocals, but the backing vocals you hear are Jonathan's original first takes with his cold.
Lyrics
Every shadow, follows me
So leave a light on so I can see
All your dreams will come true
If you in list the power of two
Chorus
My mind is clouded and I don't know what to think
And I can't figure out why you lead me,
lead me to drink
Every fool, has their own way
Of being blinded, a state of dismay
Think what you want to think then
let me be
Unlock your charms and set me free
Chorus
Everybody wants a piece of me
don't they know that I don't come for free
Why can't you, see what they see?
Inseat you hand the bottle to me
So every shadow followed me
I left a light on so I could see
And all my dreams they came true
All I did was get rid of you
My mind was clouded and I didn't know what to think
And I finally figured out why you lead me
lead me to drink
