Story Behind the Song
I was sitting down writing a check to the IRS, in lieu of taxes owed, when I asked myself, why even try earning a fortune? The IRS appears to want a 50/50 partnership in any profitable endeavor. It's not an equal partnership, though. I do all the business administrations, generate the revenue, and maintain a profit margin. Then the "Bullies On The Take" examine my profits and say: "You owe us........." And it never ends, we are only free if we pay to the "Bullies On The Take".
Lyrics
BULLIES ON THE TAKE
Why try earning a fortune, when all Im doing
is giving it away to the bullies on the take.
They say its for certain, that Ill be doing
incarcerated time, manufacturing license plates.
If I try to not include them in all Im doing.
Im only free so I can pay to the bullies on the take.
There is no way to escape, systems already in place.
They tax before you get it, then tax you when you spend it.
And if you try to save it, they will tax that too.
Tax you coming and going, without you even knowing.
That day daises are growing, oh yea, they tax it too.
Why try earning a fortune, when all Im doing
is giving it away to the bullies on the take.
The bullies on the take.
The bullies on the take.
Im only free so I can pay to the bullies on the take.
The bullies on the take.
