	Story Behind the Song The song got its name from the guitar sound effect used in the begining and throughout the song. The effect patch used sounded like a monkey, so we gave the sound a working title of "Monkey Patch." This time the working title stuck. --- The lyrics are about trying to cope with trying to quit drugs. There are lots of songs that deal with "Say No To Drugs" or "Drugs Are Bad" etc. This one deals with how hard it is to actually stop (i.e. the line "why can't I be at home at home" ). --- This song was written fairly quick for us. We heard the guitar effect and wrote the song around it. Something interesting: The guitar solo/jam is actually both guitarists soloing an alternating pattern.---This song is a favorite to play live. The crowd truely gets into the music. Lyrics Chorus: "WHY is all I need not my own...WHY can't I be at home at home?"
