    Story Behind the Song
About this old guy we saw on the channel 5 news at 6 in the morning after we stayed up all night. We haven't read the book, but the anchor guy said that it was the best book he ever read. Why don't ya read us and tell us about it.

    Lyrics
    I ain't no cowboy,
    Ain't no stupid rancher either.
    I came from the hills,
But I ain't no hillbilly neither.
    I fought the fought
And brought a loss in Vietnam.
Came back home and found no love
    From Uncle Sam.

I moved back to the hills,
    Got out the typewriter.
Shot up some stories of when I was young
    And could open a lighter.
Now every time a dog barks I think....

I am the King of the Ozarks
I am the King of the Ozarks
I am the King of the Ozarks
I am the King of the Ozarks

This book is better than the best.
I came down to the streets and
    You know the rest.
I got a cowboy hat and
    A pair of snakeskin boots.
And I even get interviewed by
Guys who still eat FROOT LOOPS.
    My hair's turnin white
    And my skin's gettin loose.
And everyday my nurse tells me
    To drink more applejuice
And every time my car parks,
    The Driver tells me

I am the King of the Ozarks
I am the King of the Ozarks
I am the King of the Ozarks

    instrumental outro
