Story Behind the Song
This is a fictional story of a girl who
leaves home at a young age on bad terms
with her parents. Years later after she
learns the harsh realities of life comes
back wishing she could go back to her
childhood. Only something ain't right.
It started out as a guitar riff, then we
just filled it out with different parts
over the course of a week or so. Last, the
lyrics were set in stone and viola!
Lyrics
happened one day
things got bad and she ran away
left a note said "never again
i'll go west and meet my new friends,
my new life, it's gonna be great
fuck you both apologies late
i'll be fine i'm gonna be big
famous, rich i think...think
years now gone by
prostitution a way of life
drugs and liquor eating her mind
living with whoever she finds
writes her mom says "i'm so alone
sorry mom i wanna come home
in some trouble don't know what to do
hope to see you soon...soon
as she stepped upon her old front porch
the sun shone down in a familiar way
hestitantly she knocked on the door
as she held back the tears that would
smear her face
